Protect Your Deposit - Pet Friendly Rent InsurancePet Friendly Rent Insurance is available to tenants who are looking for a property to rent and have a pet. Many landlords traditionally don't allow pets in rental property (we encourage them to take pets if they property has a good garden). You can offer to the landlord to pay for pet damage insurance (typically around 15 per month) that will protect the landlord against pet damage to the rental property up to £700 for the first three years, then £500 thereafter. These pet insurance products for letting property are fairly new on the market - but fab, we have had great success at Limecastle with renting many properties with pets. The insurance products are designed specifically with you - the tenant with a pet (dogs and cats)- in mind. It is sad by typically around 8% of tenants re home their pet if they can not find a landlord that will accept pets to live in their property (data taken from the Dog's Trust). With property rental insurance for pets you can insure the inside of the property against pet damage. It is worth taking out the tenant care pet insurance any way to help protect your deposit, as if any damage does occur over and above the deposit, at least you are covered.. Pets in lets - Rent a house with pets - dogs and cats in rental propertyDid you know that 43% of the UK population have pets! (source Dogs Trust) With the buy to let market growing rapidly over the last few years, more and more landlords are being flexible about renting to tenants who have pets. Here at Limecastle we don't have a 'no pets' policy like some letting agents - we encourage our landlords to take you in, and encourage tenants to contribute to insure against damage. Tenant Care - Dog Insurance Tragicly finding privately rented accommodation that allows dogs and cats can be extremely difficult. Many pet owners are forced to live in unsuitable properties like flats or homes with no garden access, or keep pets without consent from their landlord. In some cases, we know that owners are even having to give up their pets or else face becoming homeless. With almost half of the population owning a pet - why don't we rent to tenants with pets? Rent it out - or stay empty? You could be missing out on 43% of prospective tenants! If a landlord had the choice to rent their property out to someone with a pet, or keep the property empty for a few months - surely it would make good business sense to rent it out to a pet owner instead of loosing thousands of pounds in rent! Renting to dogs and cats?It can be so stressful looking for a rental property when you have a pet. Most estate agents won't even let you in the door. They claim that if you have a pet 'none' of their landlords will take you. This often is not the case, and it is just because they don't really want any hassle. Unfortunately there are some bad owners who do not respect rented property and do let their pets run riot and trash the place - this is the reason that many people prefer not to let to pet owners. In our opinion there is no hassle and so we set up 'Lets For Pets', as a tenant you can opt to pay a bond that covers the professional cleaning or replacement of carpets / flooring when you leave, or the landlord may be due to replace the carpet when you move out anyway! The office of fair trading published a set of guidelines on fair and unfair terms in rental contracts in 2001, it's no longer quite so common to come across up front 'no pets' specifications in letting's ads
