IMPORTANT - There are two types of agreement.
If you live in the property you need to download a Free Resident House Share Agreement.
If you do not live in the property and it is a professional house share use a Free Residential House Share License OR a AST. House share agreements, also known as lodger agreements and house share licences are legally binding and the only way that you can safeguard your property and avoid financial loss or disputes when sharing your house with lodgers. Many people put together their own house sharing agreements. These agreements mostly are not worth the paper they are written on. They offer no legal protection – but give you a false sense of security that most likely makes you feel like ‘at least I did something’.
The house sharing agreement you are about to download is a legal document. PLEASE ensure you download the correct agreement - if in doubt - call 0800 458 39 79.
1 - Enter your email address below and select the house share agreement you need.
2 - You will receive an email asking to confirm it is you requesting the house share agreement, so click the link in the email, then download the agreement. It is password protected, and the password is also in the email.
3 - When you click the link, select SAVE and then save it wherever you want to keep it on your pc. You need to check the folder name it saves to so that you can find it later. PLEASE also do not ring us for the password, follow the instructions, they are easy.
