Shifnal sits between 4 main roads High Street, Shrewsbury Road, Victoria Street and Park Street. We have sufficient shops and a wealth of amenities in and around our location. Fresh, local organic produce and many farm shops (Hi Ted!) lie on the outskirts of Shifnal.

Our base lies between Staffordshire and Shropshire which gives you easy access to Telford Town Centre, Birmingham and the M54, without it infringing upon your enjoyment of rural living. There are great networking and communication links by road, rail or bus and good A road and B road systems that are free of traffic. We have conference centres and offices in Telford where contractors work and often need short to medium term lodgings.

Telford Town Centre is the most popular main shopping area for people living and renting property in Shifnal, just one stop away on the train and 4 miles in the car, this is great high street shopping! Then a little further down the M54 we have Wrekin Retail Park, that is situated VERY close to Lawley Village, a very sought after place for rental property.

The county of Shropshire also lies close to the Welsh borders, which is convenient for breaks away.

A Sense of Local History near to Telford in Shifnal

If you were to rent one of our many house shares or flat shares in Shifnal, you would find it to be a quaint and traditional village once called Idsall, loaded with historical significance. For many, this area offers a step back in time; many residents have their own vegetable plot and you will spot the occasional horse.

Tong, which lies 3 miles outside of Shifnal, offers historical attractions such as Boscobel House and White Ladies Priory (the renowned retreat of Charles II during the Civil War). There is also a lovely pub The Bell that has easy access to the M54 Junction 3.

Also locally, Sheriffhales - despite being a small village of around 100 people has a primary school, a church and a post office, as well as a playing field with football goals and a children's playground. The church parish has a population of about 700 people. Sheriffhales has its own scarecrow competition where people from the village can design and make their own scarecrows each year - well worth a visit! Sheriffhales was the site of the World War II POW Camp 71, located along the drive to Lilleshall Hall.
